http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603131 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603131#c27 --- Comment #27 from Johannes Meixner <jsmeix@novell.com> 2010-08-03 15:43:33 UTC --- Got it! I can reproduce it when I set in my /etc/cups/cupsd.conf the line RIPCache 1m See "RIPCache" at http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.4/ref-cupsd-conf.html Therefore it should help to add in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf the line RIPCache 128m and restart the cupsd afterwards so that the CUPS raster driver in Ghostscript gets more memory available. I assume because my HP LaserJet 1220 is a black-only printer it works for me with the default "RIPCache 8m" but this is insufficient at least for some color printers. The new issue is unrelated to the "mainly black raster data" issue but it is also an issue in the CUPS raster driver in Ghostscript.
