This may happen e.g. after adding new repositories providing packages supporting requested languages, hardware or already installed programs. If so, they should not be 'required' but only 'recommended' and you can deselect them without raising any dependency issue. Most probably YaST also has some button to disable this mode. Requirements should not occur out of the blue unless you are also using some broken installer (or intentionally break package dependencies). @Thomas: Of course it's possible to compute these sets. I can also provide some ready-to-use iterator class in libzypp for this.
