It seems like the digital camera (an Olympus model, if this is relevant) registers itself as both an PTP imaging device (or whatever it is called) _and_ an USB mass storage device - at the same time. The latter is handled "normally", the former would seemingly be handled by system:/media/camera. So it looks like KDE was basically right in detecting two devices.
