I.e. was your printer shown in the upper selection box at "Specify the connection"? If non did you click the [Detect more] button and was your printer then shown or not? What I like to find out is whether or not the cups backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp can detect your printer even when no plugin was installed. If /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp can detect your printer even without plugin, I think I could implement an automatism to run "hp-setup network.printer.IP.address" in such cases. If /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp cannot detect your printer without plugin, then I think I would need to implement an additional user dialog before launching hp-setup where the user could manually enter the printer's IP address. FYI: How to find files that are installed as plugin from HP: # find /usr/share/hplip/ \ | xargs -n1 rpm -qf \ | grep 'not owned by any package' \ | grep -v '\.pyc' If you like you may remove those files and then test if /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp can detect your printer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
