http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=565936 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=565936#c0 Summary: Magic database for file command does not identifies PPD files correctly Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Maintenance AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: D.Olsson@Netzwerk-Design.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=333413) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=333413) Patch fixing the missing version specification of PPD files in the "magic" database User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.14) Gecko/2009090900 SUSE/3.0.14-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.14 When using the "file" command on PPD files, the returned identification is not complete - version specification is missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try with "file /usr/share/cups/model/Lexmark/Lexmark-Z11-lz11-V2.ppd.gz" Actual Results: /usr/share/cups/model/Lexmark/Lexmark-Z11-lz11-V2.ppd.gz: PPD file, ve (gzip compressed data, was "Lexmark-Z11-lz11-V2.ppd", from Unix, last modified: Thu Dec 4 04:33:40 2008, max compression) Expected Results: /usr/share/cups/model/Lexmark/Lexmark-Z11-lz11-V2.ppd.gz: PPD file, version "4.3" (gzip compressed data, was "Lexmark-Z11-lz11-V2.ppd", from Unix, last modified: Thu Dec 4 04:33:40 2008, max compression) The reason is that the magic database "/usr/share/misc/magic*" has a wrong specification: 0 string *PPD-Adobe: PPD file 13 string x \b, ve which should read: 0 string *PPD-Adobe: PPD file 12 string x \b, version %s See also attached patch to fix this. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
