http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1106479 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1106479#c14 --- Comment #14 from Curtis Rubel <crubel@compro.net> --- Further testing today, using the usbpen I cannot get all the way to do an installation either, its basically stops and reports the same thing on the screen. Looks like it might be that there are drivers missing from the current list that are needed for this particular motherboard to be able to see and mount the USB devices or something to that effect. I burnt a new Leap 15 installation DVD today and its working as expected, whether I tried the Rescue System or going into the Installation menu. I will attempt to rewrite the USB PEN again in event something was corrupted on this and retest it as well as try it on an older Motherboard and check the results there as well. Maybe we just have an issue with a new motherboard and not the proper drivers getting loaded from the current installed set on the Leap 15 media. I am NOT able to access the USB pen after booting up from the Leap 16 DVD either. fdisk -l does not show the device, the log file shows a few USB output messages, 2018-08-31T15:39:44.386848+00:00 install kernel: [ 1075.352103] usb 1-5: new high-speed USB device number 2 using ehci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:44.742854+00:00 install kernel: [ 1075.708101] usb 1-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:45.054857+00:00 install kernel: [ 1076.020101] usb 1-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:45.290839+00:00 install kernel: [ 1076.256101] usb 1-5: new high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:45.678857+00:00 install kernel: [ 1076.644100] usb 1-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:45.990854+00:00 install kernel: [ 1076.956100] usb 1-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:46.098857+00:00 install kernel: [ 1077.064060] usb usb1-port5: attempt power cycle 2018-08-31T15:39:46.542840+00:00 install kernel: [ 1077.508101] usb 1-5: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:47.186859+00:00 install kernel: [ 1078.152100] usb 1-5: device not accepting address 4, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:47.314839+00:00 install kernel: [ 1078.280099] usb 1-5: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:47.914859+00:00 install kernel: [ 1078.880060] usb 1-5: device not accepting address 5, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:47.914881+00:00 install kernel: [ 1078.880090] usb usb1-port5: unable to enumerate USB device 2018-08-31T15:39:48.298839+00:00 install kernel: [ 1079.264099] usb 6-5: new full-speed USB device number 2 using ohci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:48.630858+00:00 install kernel: [ 1079.596108] usb 6-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:48.942853+00:00 install kernel: [ 1079.908100] usb 6-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:49.234843+00:00 install kernel: [ 1080.200096] usb 6-5: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ohci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:49.566854+00:00 install kernel: [ 1080.532098] usb 6-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:49.910856+00:00 install kernel: [ 1080.876100] usb 6-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:50.018857+00:00 install kernel: [ 1080.984147] usb usb6-port5: attempt power cycle 2018-08-31T15:39:50.518843+00:00 install kernel: [ 1081.484100] usb 6-5: new full-speed USB device number 4 using ohci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:51.378853+00:00 install kernel: [ 1082.344098] usb 6-5: device not accepting address 4, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:51.562842+00:00 install kernel: [ 1082.528100] usb 6-5: new full-speed USB device number 5 using ohci-pci 2018-08-31T15:39:52.410805+00:00 install kernel: [ 1083.376095] usb 6-5: device not accepting address 5, error -32 2018-08-31T15:39:52.410826+00:00 install kernel: [ 1083.376146] usb usb6-port5: unable to enumerate USB device 20 I will update again when I have something pertinent to report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
