This command shutdowns XFCE (and computer) without error beep (thus correctly, as before -- in OS 12.1).
That's way strange since xfce4-session just calls the corresponding CK methods to perform shutdown. Are you running xfce4-session? What is the exact version of the xfce4-session package? Is this a stock openSUSE 12.2 install or do you have the X11:xfce repo enabled?
