https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466037 Summary: YaST needlessly renames existing Windows-GRUB-entries at system installation. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: schaefer.frank@gmx.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-2.5 Firefox/3.0.5 When making a clean installation or upgrading to openSUSE 11.0/11.1, YaST renames an existing GRUB-menu-entry for a Windows-OS. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Install openSUSE 11.0 or 11.1 on a machine with an existing GRUB-bootloader and an existing menu entry for Windows. Actual Results: Existing menu entry is renamed to "windows1". I don't know if this happens when YaST detects only 1 Windows partition (see bug 449928). Expected Results: Existing non-Linux-entries should not be renamed.
