https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=783357 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=783357#c1 --- Comment #1 from Marc Schütz <schuetzm@gmx.net> 2012-10-03 15:56:00 UTC --- Further observations: - Settings a shortcut for "Next input method" in GNOME system settings doesn't help, it seems to be ignored completely. - I can set the default IM now by adding "German" in ibus-setup as the first IM. - No matter whether I tick the checkbox "Show icon in panel" (or whatever it's called in English), the icon will not appear. But when I add another layout in GNOME settings, it does appear. - I finally managed to add the S-SAMPA IM via GNOME settings, but only after running "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.input-sources show-all-sources true". There should be a checkbox in the dialog for that. - The X-SAMPA IM works, but it disregards the fact that I have a German keyboard layout, although again in ibus-setup "Use system keyboard layout" is enabled. So if I want to input u̯, this is normally done by typing u_^, but because of the wrong layout I have to use ? instead of _ and so on. Conclusion: It seems "native" IBUS configuration and GNOME 3.6 don't like each other. It might well be possible that they cannot be both made to work at the same time, but then one of them should be disabled completely. As it is now, some settings seem to be taken into account (proven by the fact that x-sampa was enabled) while others (hotkeys, whether to show icon, system keyboard layout) are ignored. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
