https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340639 Summary: installer crashes during install Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dcb314@hotmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I just tried to install Open Suse 10.3 It crashed during installation, merely saying "An error has occurred". After some digging, I found out it had run out of memory during installation. Suggest 1. The installer should deal more gracefully with running out of memory. "An error has occurred" doesn't help very much. 2. The documentation should make clear that 1 Gig or more of memory is required for a successfull installation. 3. When memory is running low, the installer should display warning messages to the user. I suggest a warning message when 20% free memory remaining only. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
