https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=820593 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=820593#c0 Summary: font metrics are misinterpreted in gnome goocanvas Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 0 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jw@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=539954) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=539954) a python script exhibiting the issue. Requires zypper in python-goocanvas The attached python script is my first attempt to use goocanvas. I may be overlooking something obvious, but when rendering the String "TooT Hello World" I see bad inter character spacing (kerning?) beween 'To', 'oT', and 'We'. Depending on the canvas scale, the glyphs exhibit overlap. I am using a default, 'sans' and 'Arial' fonts. All fonts are affected. The issue might be font-independent. (Arial behaves better with 'We', but looses more whitespace between 'T H') Kerning should be independant of canvas scale. To see the effect of different canvas scaling, press '-' or '+'. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
