http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=588161 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=588161#c0 Summary: patch gnome_2_28_2 unpacking of archive (brasero.rpm) failed: cpio: Bad magic Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dufresnep@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=348319) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=348319) Probably the buggy brasero.rpm file causing cpio bad magic error User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100204 SUSE/3.5.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.8 I updated my computer from fresh 11.2 Gnome installation, frankly using a relatively poor line (56k, with some vacobson compression errors from the driver). During update, this one was wrong, but I choosed to ignore it. Now all the updates are done, except this problematic one that never stop coming back. The details of the error is: Subprocess failed. Error: Echec RPM:error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic And in progression window I have: Recuperation of brasero...Ok Installation ./brasero.rpm: "CD/DVD burning application for Gnome" I now see that in /var/cache/zypp/packages/PK_TMP_DIR I do have brasero.rpm and gedit.rpm. I guess this is the faulting brasero.rpm, I'll try to attach it to this bug report. Searching on the web, I have seen other similar problems, but rather old and in different versions, around 2006 I think (cpio bad magic with brasero). I may try to give links in a next message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Yast2 and give root password 2. Click online update (I am translating from "Mise à jour en ligne") 3. Click Apply (If I click the update, I see that this is l848 (noarch) in OpenSuse-11.2. Update) Actual Results: The details of the error is: Subprocess failed. Error: Echec RPM:error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic And in progression window I have: Recuperation of brasero...Ok Installation ./brasero.rpm: "CD/DVD burning application for Gnome" Expected Results: No error, update done :-) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
