https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=292015 Summary: zypp does not re-create cache Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: sven.burmeister@gmx.net QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com Found By: --- If due to corruption /var/lib/zypp/cache becomes empty, YaST states the following when opening the software management: Error initialising installation-source. ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/non-oss: Can't parse packages file: Can't open /var/lib/zypp/cache/Source.T8NsaD/DATA/descr/packages Instead of re-creating that directory and the files in it, YaST just downloads the rest of the sources without any error-message but the same outcome, var/lib/zypp/cache stays empty and selecting those sources in YaST does not show any packages for them. Opening the installation-sources-module in YaST does not re-create those files either. Expected behaviour: If not present, re-download needed files and re-create the cache. I will not attach any logs since it is easy to re-produce: backup /var/lib/zypp rm -R /var/lib/zypp/cache/* and start yast software-managent that's it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
