http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=616708 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=616708#c0 Summary: "perform installation" should report number/size of packages being "downloaded in advance" when that option is set Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: postdoc38@yahoo.fr QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/2.0.4-3.2 SeaMonkey/2.0.4 This is maybe more of a wish than a bug report. But, anyway, here goes: For personal reasons, I like to set the following option in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf: commit.downloadMode = DownloadInAdvance In this case, IMHO, the "perform installation" screen should have two progress bars, one showing how much of the current package is being downloaded, and one showing how many more packages are to be downloaded, then installed. As it is now, the "bottom" progress bar stays at 0% while downloading, giving no clue as to whether this will take ages or just a few seconds more... Too bad!
