https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309267 Summary: opensuseupdater-kde: blocked by package manager update Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=163054) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=163054) zypper log (bz2-compressed) It seems opensuseupdater-kde can't install package manager updates :-/ Detailed description: # rpm -q update-test-affects-package-manager update-test-affects-package-manager-0-1.3 The opensuseupdater-kde icon goes to a red exclamation mark, tooltip "new software updates are available" (not translated BTW) - obviously it finds the test update. The dialog says "Updates that affect your updater itsself are available" (also not translated...) I choose "install" and enter the root password. The updater does something[tm], then it displays a message "nothing to do". (Hmm, what about installing the update-test-affects-package-manager update? ;-) Afterwards, it again checks for updates, finds the package manager test update, .. - a nice endless loop which only ends because I'm tired to enter the root password again and again. Needless to say that this also blocks installation of other updates; the updater is useless in this state. zypper.log is attached to this bugreport. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
