It was working before that using OpenOffice doc files. The icon in the systray disappeared and is nowhere on the desktop although python /usr/bin/hp-systray is in the process table. I am using a Office-jet 6110 All-in-One. Most of the hp-(functions) are now broken with segfaults and blowup. When trying to fax, cups does not complain but the following message appeared in /var/log/messages related the fax failures Jun 19 15:43:51 lanya kernel: python[19728]: segfault at 6e54e25a ipb7cf5f5b sp bfd8431c error 4 in libc-2.8.so[b7c83000+13d000] My system is 100% installed and updated with Yast and has no broken dependencies that I am aware of. I tried to uninstall and reinstall hplip using Yast without success. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install hplip utilities, cups and OpenOffice 2. Try to fax using the cups print facility configured for the 6110 hp OfficeJet 3. Nothing happens when print is selected Actual Results: The information above should be enough to reprocuce the error.
