https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=345617 Summary: no (easy?) way to change system font hinting setting Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jdluhos@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I have not found any way to change the default font hinting used by openSUSE. It can be easily overriden for a specific user - there are GUI tools for it, e.g. in KDE - but there is no appropriate tool for setting the system-wide default setting (not even in the YaST config file editor). The only way to achieve this is manually adding /etc/fonts/local.conf with desired settings. This is occassionally needed because OpenOffice seems not to honor the per-user setting, and changing the system default is the only way to change its hinting (the default hinting unfortunately looks ugly on some LCDs). :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
