https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=363466 Summary: Fingerprint reader AuthenTec AES1610 doesn't work out of the box Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bernhardkausler@compuserve.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- My Toshiba Portege R500 has an AuthenTec AES1610 fingerprint reader included. lsusb: Bus 002 Device 005: ID 08ff:1600 AuthenTec, Inc. This fp reader is not supported by thinkfinger and the yast fingerprint reader module doesn't recognize this device. Instead you have to use libfprint, fprint_demo and pam_fprint. libfprint is a userland driver for the fp reader and works "out of the box" after installation. fprint_demo is used to enroll your fingerprints. pam_fprint enables fingerprint authentication ( I added "auth sufficient pam_fprint.so" to /etc/pam.d/common-auth) See also: http://www.reactivated.net/fprint/wiki/Aes1610 This should work out of the box! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
