I would challenge the defenders of such to provide accurate metrics to confirm such claims. From the LiveCD downloads, it seems KDE has not really much more demand than GNOME. Either way, would be nice to see such metrics. If this is the only reason to have KDE as main desktop, it's easilly defeated. * Top distributions do ship with GNOME by default. Are we trying to prove we are the best in the 'second league' or are we a top league player? * A few days ago someone slipped in Factory mailing list that we have no one working really on KDE, this raises another question, then why are we tied up to KDE? Either way, what are the real reasons why we do such differentiation? Do we really want to keep this differentiation? Please consider moving GNOME to default Desktop!
