Pls check Yast -> Security and Users -> User and Group Management -> Set Filter -> LDAP Users/Groups.
I have some issue with the command line interface that I get error. So cannot execute the command you mentioned.
Thanks for your clear clue. Tried to add ldapu1 group as you described, and include it as the maintainer, it works on my side. Then i assume the error is caused by the unproper gorup search config?
