https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=415270 Summary: KDE filemanager - MultiColumn View ignores default "Width for icon text" and truncates filenames Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: drankinatty@suddenlinkmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Devs, KDE 3.5.9 "release 49.1" Working in konqueror file manager listing the contents of /etc in multi-column view mode, the space for filenames is very short causing many of the filenames to be truncated from view. This effects 10.3 - 11.0. "Width for Icon text" was set to 600 by default. I changed it to 601 and magically the Width sprang back to what it should be. Evidently the setting was stuck at some arbitrarily low setting despite the default saying 600, changing it fixed it. Also, setting to 601 and then setting it back to 600 caused the following new line to be written to ~/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc: TextWidth=600 That setting was not present before and is not present in two other installs of 10.3 and 11.0.
