https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=205062 Summary: userspace swsusp does not support invoking ACPI methods before suspend (aka "platform" mode) Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: seife@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: hmacht@novell.com, behlert@novell.com, pavel@novell.com while integrating userspace swsusp (package suspend) into the distribution, i found out that it does not support the invoking of the appropriate ACPI methods before suspend (known as "platform" mode in the in-kernel-swsusp). Since an important development machine (mine :-) depends on those methods to correctly notify about battery and ac adapter status after resume, this bug is rather critical. There have been patches posted to the suspend-devel mailinglist for both kernel and userspace to adress this. Once the kernel patch is integrated in our kernel, i will adopt the userspace package. Since we (Pavel) are basically "upstream" for this feature, it should go into the SUSE kernel even if it is not yet in -mm or -linus. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
