NOTE Make sure you have a wired connection going to your computer.
I am using KDE. The rename can be done in either one - Network Settings and Network Management Settings. For now, I'm concentrating on Network Settings.
Navigate to Configure Desktop->Network and Connectivity->Network Settings. Click on the Wired tab. You will noticed that it shows "Wired Connection 1". Select it and click on the Edit button (add password) then rename the connection name to "eth0" in real-time.
It will not rename as it does in 12.1 and 11.4.
The only way around this is to click on the Add button->Wired and assign the connection name "eth0". Delete the original connection name "Wired connection 1".
Click on the Apply button to complete the change.
I just try to edit the my connection name in 'Network Management Settings', it works fine. And after editing the name from 'Network Settings', it also works fine. And I check the systemsettings is from kdebase4-workspace, so assign to KDE team to take a look. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
