https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462763 User rodneyp@pcug.org.au added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462763#c3 --- Comment #3 from Rodney Peters <rodneyp@pcug.org.au> 2008-12-29 19:27:52 MST --- Created an attachment (id=262699) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=262699) last 1000 lines of output from "vdir /tmp" this output is from the booted system, that was freshly installed just 5 days ago. I needed to boot to 11.0 on same PC and increase the / partition for 11.1 via LVM to be able to boot 11.1 to a usable state. except for the last file, which is owned by "root root" all others are owned by the sole user registered "rod users". Whilst booted to 11.0 I mounted the / partition for 11.1 to /mnt and did a vdir of the static /mnt/tmp. Similar result > 100,000 files owned by "rod users" and the last by "root root". User files all have a naming pattern "tmp<7 hex characters>.tmp" Mostly dated 26 dec (date of system installation) and 29 dec (when low disk space warning first appeared). That may not be significant - system was powered down most of 27 dec and not much used on 28. I was not watching size of /tmp & can't say whether it was growing regularly. Nor do I understand its contents well enough to delete anything that I, myself have not untarred there. Only one tarball has been installed to this system (fglrx non-oss driver for radeon video card) and that unpacked tarball appears to have been automatically deleted from /tmp by the installer shell.
