http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573445 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573445#c0 Summary: master-boot-code is the only needed i586 package on an x86_64 system Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: rfno@fietze-home.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.3; Linux) KHTML/4.3.4 (like Gecko) SUSE I have rsync'ed the distribution/11.2 subdirectory from GWDG. The package master-boot-code is the only package that makes it necessary to sync the i586 subdirectory in addition to the x86_64 and noarch subdirectories containing the RPMs. In companies that only run 64 bit systems this is a waste of resources like local mirror disk space and local and remote mirror network band width. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install x86_64 system and to an rpm -qa --queryformat '%{ARCH}\t%{NAME}\n' | fgrep i586 Actual Results: 1. i586 master-boot-code Expected Results: <nothing> :) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
