The OpenSUSE 11.3 OS was installed fresh on the hard drive. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install OpenSUSE 11.3 on Dell Optiplex 380 hardware 2. Confirm ALC259 is the driver used 3. Sound does not work in any instance Actual Results: No sound through software applications or Operating System, only BIOS beeps. Expected Results: Sound through speakers, internal, rear and front headphones if /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf is set with "options snd-hda-intel model=lifebook" the front headphone jack receives sound. I'm using the Gnome 2.28 desktop environment.
