This package is no longer needed when using some newest JDK than gcc-java, which is the sane default. In case it will be needed, ant will print ClassNotFoundError instead. Maybe it should be hidden in /usr/bin/ant BTW: can you remove and install xml-commons-jaxp-1.3-apis again and post me the ouput?
