(I've tried ssh installation of latest build and it worked correctly)
I've just tried another install of Factory - yast crashed again, although I think it was in a different place. Still while "Initialize software manager": /usr/lib/YaST2/startup/YaST2.call: line 277: 3435 Segmentation fault $OPT_FBITERM y2base "$Y2_MODULE_NAME" $Y2_MODE_FLAGS $Y2_MODULE_ARGS $Y2_MODE $Y2_UI_ARGS
Ideas:
- Have you seen it in previous Milestone? If not, than it really might be bug 759310 or some other, non-YaST specific one.
No, this is the first time I've seen it.
- Qt-based installation: just connect with ssh -X
Or not try to install at all, but neither actually fixes the problem :-)
- Usually, there's still second console available, even after the crash, but you have to use it before you confirm the crash popup in first console. Hm, but I do not know how ssh installation behaves here...
- Can you create a backtrace?
Probably.
- Can you redirect the log files to USB stick or network?
Yes, that ought to work if the 2nd console works. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
