https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780232 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780232#c0 Summary: DUN (PAN) Bluetooth not working, strange behaviour of System->Bluetooth dialog in GNOME Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dirk@goe.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=505637) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=505637) Some screenshots, Bluetooth dialog with paired E71 trying to enable DUN. Failures, ... User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 I'm using a X220 Lenovo thinkpad with built-in bluetooth and an old Nokia E71. I was using Ubuntu 11.04 on that machine with roughly the same GNOME (older), NetworkManager, Bluetooth configuration environment. In that environment I could pair the device and use DUN for Internet dial-up via the phone. In the new 12.2 GNOME environment I can pair the device and then being able to send files to the phone - bluetooth stack is working. When ticking "Access the internet ... DUN" - I can wait ages and nothing happens (see attached screenshots). When I'm trying to pair with a Galaxy Nexus (Google Smartphone) I get to the point of pairing but networking does not work either. When I tick "Use your mobile phone ... PAN/NAP" and switch to some other device or view and come back to that interface the box is unticked (repeatable). Another issue is that the switch "Connection" is grayed off and can not be set. Don't know what to do with this one? Has it something to do with the Internet connection at all? Why does the interface does not realize that the connection is gone (e.g. bluetooth switched off on the mobile)? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Logon to GNOME 2. Go to the Bluetooth dialog in system settings 3. Search for device and pair 4. Try to tick DUN 5. Nothing happens Actual Results: Unable to use the bluetooth/DUN/phone combination to dial-in into the internet. Expected Results: DUN, PAN should work reliably, error messages should tell me what is going wrong. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
