https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=839846 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=839846#c0 Summary: Missing dependence for ifplugd in Minimal server installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 4 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Patterns AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: andrea.turrini@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- I tried to install oS 13.1 MS4 in virtualbox by using openSUSE-Factory-NET-Build0652-i586.iso. As installation option, I have chosen the minimal server selection (text only) and as a result, in the second stage of the installation the network can not be configured with the default options since the package ifplugd is not installed by default but it is needed to configure the network in order to download ifplugd itself. This leads to a broken installation with no network. This can be fixed by either choosing manually ifplugd during the installation or by configuring the network to be enabled at boot time instead of at cable connection, the default choice. If I choose any of the other installation selections (KDE, GNOME, ...), then ifplugd is installed by default and the network should work as expected: I have not tried them but it works also in the minimal server selection when ifplugd is marked manually to be installed. It seems that there is a lack of dependency for ifplugd in the "Base system" pattern since it already contains several network related packages (dhcpd, netcfg, openssh, ...). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
