https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732792 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732792#c0 Summary: kdesu doesn't change the directory/environment Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: thardeck@suse.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: lnussel@suse.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- It seems that kdesu doesn't change the directory/environment in 12.1. If root is unable to access your home directory like in case of NFS or similar this results in some major issues. For example it prevents rpm to work properly (bnc#728856) in which succession Yast Software management doesn't work if opened with alt + f2 or from the start menu. If I ran yast2 from a 'su -' environment the package management works fine. This didn't happen with 11.4 from which I have upgraded to 12.1. So basically kdesu should act similar to 'su -' and not stay in the current directory or change back to it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
