Ok, this is a mystery - now, even after again removing the x11_driver line and
rebooting, everything works all right. The logicaldev_input entry looks very
different:
udi =
'/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_46d_c315_noserial_if0_logicaldev_input'
info.addons.singleton = {'hald-addon-input'} (string list)
info.capabilities = {'input', 'input.keyboard', 'input.keypad', 'input.keys',
'button'} (string list)
info.category = 'input' (string)
info.parent = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_46d_c315_noserial_if0'
(string)
info.product = 'Logitech Logitech USB Keyboard' (string)
info.subsystem = 'input' (string)
info.udi =
'/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_46d_c315_noserial_if0_logicaldev_input'
(string)
input.device = '/dev/input/event1' (string)
input.originating_device =
'/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_46d_c315_noserial_if0' (string)
input.product = 'Logitech Logitech USB Keyboard' (string)
input.x11_driver = 'evdev' (string)
input.xkb.layout = 'us' (string)
input.xkb.model = 'evdev' (string)
input.xkb.rules = 'base' (string)
input.xkb.variant = '' (string)
linux.device_file = '/dev/input/event1' (string)
linux.hotplug_type = 2 (0x2) (int)
linux.subsystem = 'input' (string)
linux.sysfs_path =
'/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.2/usb5/5-2/5-2:1.0/input/input1/event1'
(string)
I haven't tried restarting hal before changing the fdi file, maybe that
would've just fixed things as well - since I _did_ notice that almost no hal
addons were running at the time, certainly no hald-addon-input processes!
Maybe this could occur only when booting first time after upgrade, maybe it
stops occurring only after first successful login (I did little else between
xorg.conf change and your suggested change), maybe there's a different issue. I
had no such problem at all with my notebook that I upgraded yesterday too, so
it doesn't cover all upgrade cases.
