Then log in as root and try: init 0 or "shutdown -h now" If this works you can try the same with some more drivers loaded, e.g. runlevel "3". If this does not work we already know that a specific driver causes that. You can also increase the acpi debug level: echo 0xF >/sys/module/acpi/parameters/debug_level echo 0xFFFFFFFF >/sys/module/acpi/parameters/debug_layer and then shut down.
