https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478491 User martin@vonwald.info added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478491#c1 Summary: Filesystems suddenly turn to read-only on Asus EEEBox B202 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: martin@vonwald.info QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=274496) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=274496) Output of lsmod User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.6 Every other day the local filesystems (root, home) suddenly turn to read-only with no ovious reason. No user interaction is necessary for this to happen - although it also doesnt prevent it to happen. According to the output of mount all the filesystems are still read/write but if any process tries to write something, it is not possible (no matter what process or what user). As obviously I currently dont have any logfiles to add, I try to give as much information about the system as possible. (Sidenote: I have a second PC running openSuse 11.0 up all the time. I try to mirror the major log files there, as soon as I found out how this can be done. Any hints are appreciated) The system is an Asus EEEBox B202 with 2GB. Suse is installed on the local harddrive. Root and home both use ext3. A 4GB swap partition also exists. /tmp and /var/tmp use tmpfs (no, I havent tried to write there yet; I try to think about this next time). I'll attach outputs of lspci, lsusb, lsmod and /etc/fstab. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Sit there and wait Actual Results: Local filesystems are read-only. Expected Results: Local filesystems stay read/write. All current updates/patches for Suse are installed. martin@zeus:~> uname -a Linux zeus 2.6.27.7-9-default #1 SMP 2008-12-04 18:10:04 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Additional installations: 1) VirtualBox updates from download.opensuse.org/repositories/Virtualization:/VirtualBox/openSUSE_11.1/ (although no vbox running, when it happens) 2) KDE 4.2 from download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.1/ 3) QT updates from download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_11.1/ 4) Mesa and X updates from download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.1/ 5) Webcam driver kernel module from download.opensuse.org/repositories/drivers:/webcam/openSUSE_11.1/ (it happends also when the camera is not connected) 6) OO updates from download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/openSUSE_11.1/ 7) Firefox updates from download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla /openSUSE_11.1/ 8) xine-libs and a game from Packman 9) Skype I'm running KDE 3.5 . Last time it happend KMail 3, Firefox, Kopete (KDE4) and Skype were running, but it also happend a few times with nothing open except Kopete and Skype and no user-interaction. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
