YaST does not look for previous bootloader configuration - it may be pretty outdated and it would lead to many trouble. You write 'When making a clean installation or upgrading to openSUSE 11.0/11.1', what exactly do you mean? Clean installation (which means that we can hardly do anything about this bug) or upgrade (here the name shold be preserved)?
