It works in Windows (dual boot system), but not in Linux any more. I checked whether YAST sound module can play a test sound, but this is not the case. I have an Asus notebook and the sound card shown in Yast is "Intel Audio device". The mixer shows full sound volume. Reboot did not help. I want to share to other users this work-around I found: after logging into Linux (with KDE) with user "root" it worked, and continued so even when I logged in again with my normal user id. I once had the problem that sound did not work probably because I did shutdown in Windows with the sound muted, but if this was the case an intermediate reboot with Windows would help. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start system 2. log in as normal user (not root) 3. try to play any sound, e.g. using a browser or play an mp3-file using kaffeine. Actual Results: No sound in any application, also not on KDE start / login. Expected Results: sound should work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
