It could be, though I also suspect a driver/firmware problem.
At this moment I can only get wireless to work using ifup and then manually
adding DNS and Gateway parameters (i only get an ip address).
Also the fact that my status led is not on/working could indicate a firmware
issue?
I have a iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode file in my /lib/firmware folder, version 1.2.23ks
willem@openSUSE11b1:/lib/firmware> dmesg | grep iwl
iwl3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection driver for Linux,
1.2.23ks
iwl3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2007 Intel Corporation
iwl3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
iwl3945: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 23 802.11a channels
phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'iwl-3945-rs'
Is it an idea to try other firmware? And if so where and what could I test?
Be gentle, as I actually have little clues with wireless ;)
