I've looked at the examples you gave above, and there are several reasons for they being installed a) in case of koffice: Makefile.am listed as part of the _DATA variable. ouch. would be easy to detect, but its the only package affected, so its not a very common problem b) some install Makefile.am's to allow example applications to be built. the corresponding configure is not included, so you can't actually regenerate the Makefile.in/Makefile from the Makefile.am. if they work in the place they're installed I haven't tested yet. do you consider those junk as well? or only if they cannot be used where they're installed? c) most packages install Makefile* because they copy over a whole documentation directory into the package, including the buildsystem. obviously that doesn't make sense, so I would consider that junk as well. so far I've added a check for c), and it triggers already on quite a lot of packages. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
