http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557969 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557969#c0 Summary: Poor screen resolution, screen not detected, YaST misses X11 configuration, etc. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091017 SUSE/2.0.0-1.1.3 SeaMonkey/2.0 Sor some reason X11 does not detect the DDC-capable monitor, and selects a poor screen resolution (800x600) (e.g. at the GDM screen). I cannot select any higher resolution, nor can I detect the connected monitor from the applet. In YaST the X11 configuration is gone. When I run sax2 from the text console, sax does not switch to the graphical screen where it wants to receive input. However sax is able to detect the monitor and set a proper resolution. After saving those setting, everything seems fine. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the system, then connect a similar, but different monitor Actual Results: The monitor resolution is poor (800x600) Expected Results: The monitor's capabilities should be used (e.g. 1280x1024) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
