https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734721 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734721#c0 Summary: kmail cannot use /var/spool/mail/$USER Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: rfno@fietze-home.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.6; Linux) KHTML/4.6.5 (like Gecko) SUSE kmail cannot use mail spooled via /var/spool/mail/$USER Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure e.g. postfix, eithe rlocal or procmail delivery agent 2. Try to add mailbox account 3. Send mail to $USER@localhost Actual Results: Mail is properly delivered to /var/spool/mail/$USER. Good. KMail creates an extra folder named <whatever you selected>. Useless. Have to e.g. add an extra filter to move incoming mail in /var/spool/mail/$USER to inbox. Bad. Extra work. Mail removed in this new useless folder always reappears. So I cannot remove mail from /var/spool/mail/$USER. Expected Results: As kmail1 does it. As all MUAs that I know do it. Offer a menu entry when adding an account that easily allows me to retrieve mail via /var/spool/mail/$USER with a selection of lockings used by e.g. postfix local or procmail. Retrieve all mail from /var/spool/mail/$USER and directly move it to inbox, not copying it to inbox. This behaviour of kmail makes openSUSE 12.1 together with kmail totally unusable in very many installations. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
