https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736500 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736500#c0 Summary: NetworkManager does not change resolve.conf on DHCP network Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: craigeherring@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/15.0.874.121 Safari/535.2 Random issue- When connecting to a dhcp network at times NetworkManager will not change resolve.conf from a previous dhcp network settings. The temporary fix is to delete resolve.conf, connect to a different network (since the new NetworkManager doesn't allow reconnecting to the same network), then connecting to the intended network. No pattern relative to Wired or Wireless. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.connect to different DHCP networks 2. 3. Actual Results: sometimes cannot resolve hostnames/websites since resolve.conf is not correct for current network Expected Results: rewritten resolve.conf Easy to fix for a technical user however would be considered broken for a non-techie. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
