Is it openSUSE Tumbleweed or Leap 15.6? The kernel I provided is only for Leap 15.6.
Leap 15.6, so it should work
And you don't have to remove the previous kernel at all. The kernel packages are multi-versioned, and you can choose the right one to boot via GRUB menu. The amount of installable kernels is defined in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf multiversion.kernels.
Thanks for this info. After installing the package I see in the /boot directory the following link lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Nov 27 18:55 initrd -> initrd-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default which is broken as the file initrd-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default is not present in this directory $ ls -al /boot -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272561 Nov 26 09:18 config-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272888 Sep 16 13:05 config-6.4.0-150600.23.22-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272888 Okt 2 10:27 config-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Nov 27 18:55 do_purge_kernels drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Sep 23 11:58 efi drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4096 Nov 27 22:57 grub2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Nov 27 18:55 initrd -> initrd-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 144328 Jun 12 16:45 memtest.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 365078 Nov 26 09:37 symvers-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 364916 Sep 16 13:25 symvers-6.4.0-150600.23.22-default.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 365065 Okt 2 10:47 symvers-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 484 Nov 26 09:37 sysctl.conf-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 484 Sep 16 13:25 sysctl.conf-6.4.0-150600.23.22-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 484 Okt 2 10:47 sysctl.conf-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7593536 Nov 26 09:35 System.map-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7630253 Okt 2 10:42 System.map-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14276220 Nov 26 09:11 vmlinux-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 15970363 Okt 2 10:50 vmlinux-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default.gz lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 Nov 27 18:55 vmlinuz -> vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12488816 Nov 26 09:48 vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 65 Nov 26 09:48 .vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.hmac -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14190688 Sep 16 13:58 vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.23.22-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 65 Sep 16 13:58 .vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.23.22-default.hmac -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14198912 Okt 2 11:24 vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 65 Okt 2 11:24 .vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.23.25-default.hmac lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 45 Nov 27 18:55 .vmlinuz.hmac -> .vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.hmac Looking inside the rpm file $ rpm -qlv kernel-default-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 65 Nov 26 09:48 /boot/.vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.hmac -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7593536 Nov 26 09:35 /boot/System.map-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272561 Nov 26 09:18 /boot/config-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default ---------- 1 root root 0 Nov 26 09:38 /boot/initrd -rw------- 1 root root 2097152 Nov 26 09:37 /boot/initrd-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw------- 1 root root 2097152 Nov 26 09:37 /boot/initrd-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default-kdump -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 365078 Nov 26 09:37 /boot/symvers-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 484 Nov 26 09:37 /boot/sysctl.conf-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 61725624 Nov 26 09:11 /boot/vmlinux-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14276220 Nov 26 09:11 /boot/vmlinux-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default.gz ---------- 1 root root 0 Nov 26 09:38 /boot/vmlinuz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12488816 Nov 26 09:48 /boot/vmlinuz-6.4.0-150600.1.g833632b-default I see that file is present. If you're using Tumbleweed, I can build a kernel for that, too.
Thanks for the offer, I will come back to this if nesessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
