https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=483389 Summary: kwalletmanager freezes the desktop when composite effects in kwin is enabled Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: silviu_marin-caea@otpbank.ro QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-2.14 Firefox/3.0.6 I'm using openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.2.1 from this repository: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSU... If these KDE 4.2 packages are not supported, I guess you will mark this bug as WONTFIX, but I'm still filing it, for information, at least. With composite effects disabled, kwalletmanager runs as usual. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install KDE 4.2.1 from repository 2. Enable composite effects in kwin 3. Enable effect "dim parent window" 4. Try to run kwalletmanager, open a wallet Actual Results: The screen freezes, only mouse pointer can be moved, very slowly. Switching to text console doesn't work anymore. I think there's a race between windows, maybe it has something to do with the "dim parent window" effect. Expected Results: I should be able to use the wallet. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
