We can also reproduce the problems on a SLES 10 on different machine with similar hardware. It is only with Adaptec cards. LSI cards behave correctly. SUSE 9.3 and SLES 9 also behave correctly! So there must be a change in the adaptec driver between 9.3 and 10.1 that causes this problem. The SCSI device is in all cases a Infortrend Eonstore RAID Array. About 1 or 2 years ago there was an issue that these devices could not use U320 with Adaptec cards - one had to use U160.
