https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220805 Summary: xcdroast device scanning can cause lockups with certain USB devices not supporting INQUIRY Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: cadaha@novell.com ReportedBy: kernel01@hailfinger.org QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com xcdroast scans all SCSI and ATAPI devices by default. That includes USB key drives and some USB scanners etc. This can lead to lockups if one of the devices does not conform to the standards. Suggested workaround: Ask HAL for CD/DVD devices instead of blindly scanning everything. As a side effect, using HAL should speed up scanning by a factor of 10. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
