https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247336 Summary: yast2 printer accidentally sets up local filtering Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: mzugec@novell.com ReportedBy: jsmeix@novell.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com How to reproduce: root@host# yast2 printer Add -> Network Printers -> Print via CUPS server -> remote IPP queue select a remote IPP queue on the remote CUPS server leave the default "Do local Filtering" disabled [Finish] Now there is a local "raw" queue which points to the remote IPP queue on the remote CUPS server. This is correct. root@host# yast2 printer Select the above created queue and [Edit]. Now you can change the model, PPD file, and filter settings. This is wrong because this belongs to the filtering which does not happen on the local machine but on the remote CUPS server. After [Finish] it results a local queue with local filtering which is wrong because the filtering does not work well when it happens both on the local machine and on the remote CUPS server. In some cases it may even work but arbitraty unexpected problems happen if two filtering systems try to work one after the other. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
