This avoids MS WIndows XP to think that it can access stuff inside. scenario was: 4 partitions: DOS, Linux, Linux SWAP, Windows XP. The Linux partition got converted to Extended (type f), in whiuch additional partitions where created. Windows XP now tried to access stuff inside them.
