My Tumbleweed installs from July 2022 all have /boot populated. Some symlinks to /usr/lib/modules/... They update just fine. I installed them the exact same way I tried this time. Each time the partitions were reformatted. I am doing the exact install I have done for many years. All without a boot manager during installation. Now, nothing is in /boot so it's no longer bootable. And no where is there an initrd, not even in /usr/lib/modules..
