Assuming you didn't also update any X.Org packages (which I think you didn't) this can only be a kernel or hardware issue or you changed the BIOS settings for the onboard graphics.
If the packages were part of the update, it has happened. What i did was: All packages > Update all in this list if an update is available. The solver had just one prob with schroedinger, which could be solved by change of vendor, so np at all. (In reply to comment #5)

Ofcourse i myself did not change anything. Why should i? I just updated, to get KDE4.2. To get this info, i had to shrink / and /home on the 64GB RunCore ssd, to install a plain standard 11.1 next to the unusable 11.1 Factory.
