It supports some older boards, but the notion of "how old" is somewhat undefined. We've been adding PCI IDs to it in an "unsupported" manner for SLES. For the devices reporting an HP or Compaq vendor ID, you can test compatibility pretty easily using the module option "hpsa_allow_any=1" and adding the device IDs via the PCI "new_id" mechanism. You should see a warning and the device *may* work. For devices reporting a DEC vendor ID, we'd need to extend the driver to test for the DEC vendor ID.
